I feel like it's about time. Before this blog started two years ago I had another blog Town & Country Mouse. Some of you readers have been with me since the begining and I'm ever so grateful you've kept up with my journey. The rest of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me now!
Many of you are already familiar with the artist Nikki McClure; I've seen her calendars and journals featured on many blogs. I adore her work and have her 2012 calendar hung up and the 2011 one stashed for some future craft upcycling. I also love her Remember and Things to Make and Do journals too.
Long story, but I have two copies of How to Cook the Perfect Day on my hands and I want one of you, precious readers, to have one of them!
For those of you not familiar with her work she uses an x-acto knife to cut her designs into paper! This sweet little book is part cookbook (with recipes for things like Midnight Morning Biscuits and Celestial Apple Pie) and part narrative.
On to the giveaway! Please leave a comment telling me something about what your perfect day would look like...right now mine would involve snow, hot cocoa, a lusty fire in the fireplace, a clean house (ie nothing to distract me) and me curled up under blankets with a good book! I will pick a commenter at random on January 26th!

My perfect day would be an all day limo ride taking my best girlfriends to a day at the spa and a fancy lunch. Would be great to make them feel special and enjoy a day that they would't normally do.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect day would be having a clean house and just relaxing with my daughter and husband.
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny--literally right before I read this post I was on the buyolympia site, buying the Nikki McClure calendar after weeks of waffling (do I really NEED another calendar? It's not even very practical without anywhere to write things...and so on and so on). I also bought a set of note cards while I was at it (I was paying the shipping anyway, right?).
ReplyDeleteSo, my perfect day would be sunny and quiet and I'd have lots and lots of alone time to go hike in the woods, draw in my nature journal, read and write. Oh, and someone would have left me three delicious meals (and would come later to clean them up). Oops, somehow my husband and kids don't figure in to my perfect day (maybe I would let them come visit after I do all those other things).
The perfect day...people should think about this more often. My perfect day would be getting all my close friends I met while serving in the military and preparing a huge meal for them like I use to. I love to cook for my friends any chance I can get, but to get everyone together and see them and find out what they been up too would be great and my perfect day.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect day would be having my entire family around the dinner table & someone else to do the dishes!
